Me on Waiting on Wednesday (40)

Waiting on Wednesday is a bunch of weekly fun hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. :)

Title: The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight
Author: Jennifer E. Smith
Release Date: January 2, 2012
Publisher: Poppy (Little, Brown imprint)

From Goodreads:

Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. She's stuck at JFK, late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon to be step-mother that Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's in seat 18B. Hadley's in 18A.

Twists of fate and quirks of timing play out in this thoughtful novel about family connections, second chances and first loves. Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

I've read some early buzz, some people have been receiving advance copies from LB, and they're saying it's awesome. I love the set over 24 hours part of it. Such a short period of time, but some days 24 hours last forever. I want to read this book so much. It intrigues the small contemporary part of my reading brain.

  6. i love the cover and title for this book. i am so excited to read it! i love the twenty-four hour periods sometimes, like it really works in Gayle Forman's IF I STAY and WHERE SHE WENT. i probably read other books with that short time span, but can't think of them right now.

  8. I had this on my WoW last week, and I agree with you whole heartedly- this sounds like an amazing read! I can't wait to get my hands on it! I've heard it compared to Anna and the French Kiss, which is a favorite of mine, so I'm hoping it lives up to the hype.

    Great Blog- new follower!
