Me on Waiting on Wednesday (76)

Waiting on Wednesday is a bunch of weekly fun hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. :)

Title: Rage Within
Author: Jeyn Roberts
Release Date: September 4, 2012
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers

From Goodreads:

Aries, Clementine, Mason and Michael have survived the first wave of the apocalypse that wiped out most of the world's population, and turned many of the rest into murderous Baggers. Now, they're hiding out in an abandoned house in Vancouver with a ragtag group of surviving teens, and trying to figure out their next move.

Aries is trying to lead, but it's hard to be a leader when there are no easy answers, and every move feels wrong. Clementine is desperate to find her brother Heath, but it's impossible to know where he'd be, even if he is still alive. Michael is still haunted by the memories of his actions during his harrowing struggle to survive. And Mason is struggling with something far worse: the fear that he may be a danger to his friends.

As the Baggers begin to create a new world order, Aries, Clementine, Mason and Michael will have to trust and rely on each other in order to survive.

Considering the blog event going on, I think I'll go with an upcoming book by a Canadian author. :)

Whenever I realize there are (fairly) local authors that I haven't met, I kind of feel like a jerk. Especially if I've read their books. I loved Jeyn's first book, Dark Inside. It was so dark and creepy and really really creepy. And when they were in an area I recognized it really amped up the creepy. It's been a little while since I read the first book, so I think I'll be ready for this when the release date comes around. ;)

  1. Okay. I haven't heard of this book before but what a creepy cover!! The synopsis sounds a little bit like Susanne Winnacker's Other Life (which I absolutely loved) :) Sounds great!

  5. Really enjoyed Dark Inside and glad that the story is continuing with Rage Within. It definitely sounds like things are just getting worse for these teens (and that totally makes me excited!)
