Me on Waiting on Wednesday (67)

Waiting on Wednesday is a bunch of weekly fun hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. :)

Title: Ten
Author: Gretchen McNeil
Release Date: September 18, 2012
Publisher: Balzer + Bray (HC imprint)

From Goodreads:

And their doom comes swiftly.

It was supposed to be the weekend of their lives – an exclusive house party on Henry Island. Best friends Meg and Minnie each have their reasons for being there (which involve T.J., the school's most eligible bachelor) and look forward to three glorious days of boys, booze and fun-filled luxury.

But what they expect is definitely not what they get, and what starts out as fun turns dark and twisted after the discovery of a DVD with a sinister message: Vengeance is mine.

Suddenly people are dying, and with a storm raging, the teens are cut off the from the outside world. No electricity, no phones, no internet, and a ferry that isn't scheduled to return for two days. As the deaths become more violent and the teens turn on each other, can Meg find the killer before more people die? Or is the killer closer to her than she could ever imagine?

So outrageously creepy. I'm rather enjoying this wave of YA mystery/thriller books that don't involve any dystopian bits or paranormal stuff, like Rosebush and The Butterfly Clues. I want this book so bad, I can only hope that HC Canada will get some ARCs so I can beg for one repeatedly. ;)

  1. Wow, sounds creepy! :) I hadn't heard of this one.

  2. Looks good! Thanks for letting me know about it!

  3. Sounds amazing! I am super excited for this one too! I love the teaser line on the cover, it gives me chills.

I am also loving this wave of non paranormal, non dystopian titles. It is refreshing to have something different.

  4. This slightly reminds me of the TV show "Harper's Island" which was seriously creepy, but I loved it nonetheless. Thanks a lot for sharing; I think I'll have to add this to my to-read list right now. :)

    Fictional Distraction

  5. I cannot wait to read this!! Awesome pick!
